About the LGSETA Bursary

This bursary forms part of the LGSETA Annual Performance Plan (APP) for 2025/2026, designed to support youth development, build skills capacity, and promote employment readiness across South Africa.

The LGSETA Bursary Programme provides funding for full-time students enrolled at:

• Public universities
• Universities of technology
• TVET colleges

• Civil Engineering related (N4, N5 & N6 in Civil Engineering)
• Electrical Engineering related (Hons/ Bachelor/ Advanced Diploma: Electrical Engineering | N4, N5 & N6 in Electrical Engineering)
• Engineering Management related (Master of Engineering: Engineering Management)
• Engineering related (Bachelor/ Diploma Engineering: Civil Engineering [Specialisations: Environmental; Construction Management; Water; Transport; and Urban Engineering] | Bachelor/ Diploma Civil Engineering Technologist [Specialisations: Environmental; Construction Management; Water; Transport; and Urban Engineering])

Who Can Apply LGSETA Bursaries Programme 2026

• You must be a South African citizen or a permanent resident in South Africa
• You must be unemployed
• You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
• You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards one of the qualifications on the LGSETA bursary list
• Your qualification must be accredited on the NQF/ N Levels
• You must be studying or accepted/ provisionally accepted to study at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology or TVET College – NATED programmes)

LGSETA Bursaries Programme 2026 Required Documents

• ID document (certified copy – not older than 6 months)
• Matric latest results, if currently in Matric (certified copy – not older than 6 months)
• Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy – not older than 6 months)
• Most recent academic records, if currently studying (certified copy – not older than 6 months)
• Last years academic tertiary results, if a continuing student (certified copy – not older than 6 months)
• Proof of admission/ acceptance from your institution (on institutions letterhead)
• Proof of unemployment (affidavit)
• Proof of Registration, if currently registered for 1st or 2nd year studies
• Parents or guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed/ if unemployed/ proof of pension or SASSA grant if applicable)

Applications are submitted online only via the official LGSETA portal.
Follow these steps:

2. Click the Services tab → DG Bursary under the Learners section.
3. Access the online application via http://pulse.lgseta.org.za
4. Complete all required fields and upload your documents.
5. Submit your application before the deadline.
