About the Programme
The Institute for Landscape Architecture in South Africa (ILASA) is offering bursaries for students studying Landscape Architecture in 2026. The funding supports both undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in SACLAP-accredited programmes, helping them cover essential academic costs such as tuition, registration, study materials and accommodation.
The bursary aims to support academically strong students who demonstrate financial need and a clear commitment to the Landscape Architecture profession.
ILASA Bursaries 2026 field Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for studies towards a Degree in Landscape Architecture (at Undergraduate or Postgraduate level), at SACLAP accredited institutions: University of Cape Town (UCT), University of Pretoria (UP), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
ILASA Bursaries Benefits
The ILASA bursary provides partial financial assistance, covering:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Residence fees (in exceptional circumstances)
ILASA awards a maximum bursary amount of R40 000 per student.
Payments are made directly to tertiary institutions or relevant service providers.
Who Are Eligible to Apply ILASA Bursaries 2026
- You must be a South African citizen or a South African naturalized citizen
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards a Landscape Architectural degree (undergraduate or postgraduate)
- You must be studying or intend on studying at one of the following tertiary institutions, which are registered and accredited with SACLAP (South African Council of the Landscape Architectural Profession): University of Cape Town (UCT), University of Pretoria (UP), Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in your previous year of study
- You must have proven financial need
- Preference will be given to financially needy students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

- Funding is granted year-to-year depending on budget
- Continuing students must:
- Confirm continuation in writing by November each year
- Submit an estimate of study costs for the next year
- ILASA may review progress before continuing support
